At its heart is Poonam Mukherjee — a self-taught artist, lifelong creator and the creative force behind hoWme.
For Poonam, creativity has never been confined to a particular material, technique or artistic tradition. Her imagination moves freely between the familiar and the unexpected, finding possibilities where others might see ordinary objects.
An antique discovered during her travels, the intricacy of a traditional Indian craft, an unusual texture or a contemporary artistic technique can all become the starting point for something new.
What distinguishes her work is an instinctive ability to bring different artistic worlds together. Indian craft traditions meet global influences. Heritage forms find contemporary expression. Wood, metal, glass, terracotta and natural fibres become canvases for experimentation.
Through thoughtful combinations of materials, techniques, colours and finishes, Poonam creates pieces that feel both rooted in tradition and refreshingly contemporary.

What began as Poonam's personal artistic pursuit gradually found its way into other homes through friends, family, exhibitions and commissions. Growing appreciation for her distinctive creations transformed a lifelong passion into a design studio.

A traditional Indian motif may find expression through a modern technique. An antique form may be reimagined with contemporary materials. Wood may meet brass, textured surfaces may complement delicate detailing, and distressed finishes may introduce depth and character to an otherwise simple form.

Working in small batches allows us to experiment with forms, materials, artistic techniques and finishes, giving each creation its own distinctive character. We value the natural textures of materials, the subtle variations of handcrafted work and the details that make an object feel personal rather than mass-produced. Our collections include decorative accents, functional objects and statement pieces designed to bring warmth, individuality and timeless elegance to contemporary interiors. |
Selected pieces can be customised in colour, finish, dimensions and materials.
We also collaborate with homeowners, interior designers, architects, hospitality spaces, retailers and visual merchandisers to create pieces that complement particular spaces, design concepts and personal preferences.
